Their Amazing Story:

The story of Mitchell’s Soup Co. is a delightful reminder that the best businesses are born from love, not business plans. It began with matriarch Donna Lockhart, who, faced with a surplus of dried goods after Y2K, began selling ready-to-cook soup mixes at her Duncan, BC soap stand. What started as a practical solution was inherited by her son, Jamie, as a project to teach his four children life skills. It quickly blossomed into a passion for crafting meals that nourish both body and soul, officially founding a company named for his eldest son, Mitchell.

Today, run by three generations of the Lockhart and Faris families, Mitchell’s has found a new home in Aylmer, Ontario. Their commitment, however, remains unchanged. In an age of mass production, they proudly forgo shortcuts. Every dried bean, lentil, and perfectly balanced spice blend is measured and assembled by hand, with each bag lovingly tied with twine. This isn't just about making soup; it's about preserving the craftsmanship, intentionality, and heart of a homemade meal.

More than a product, Mitchell’s sells an experience—a return to the kitchen without the fuss. Their nutrient-dense mixes, inspired by international flavours but made with Canadian care, provide the foundation for a quick, wholesome dinner. Choosing Mitchell’s means supporting a business built on the timeless values of family, local sourcing, and the profound belief that good things, indeed, take time.
